1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide a better user experience, and give website operators information about how their site is being used.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags (also called web beacons or clear GIFs). This policy covers all of these technologies collectively referred to as "cookies."
2. How We Use Cookies
Majistic Locs uses cookies to:
- Keep you signed in to your account
- Remember your preferences and settings
- Process secure payments through Stripe
- Understand how you use the Platform so we can improve it
- Protect against fraud and unauthorized access
- Store your shopping cart contents between visits
3. Types of Cookies We Use
| Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Required for the Platform to function. These handle authentication (keeping you signed in), security (CSRF protection), and session management. The Platform cannot operate without these cookies. | Session — 7 days |
| Functional | Remember your preferences, such as dark/light mode, language, and shopping cart contents. These enhance your experience but are not strictly necessary. | 1 year |
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform — which pages are most popular, how users navigate, and where errors occur. This data is used to improve the Platform. We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not track you across other websites. | 1 year |
| Payment | Set by Stripe, our payment processor, to process transactions securely, detect fraud, and comply with PCI regulations. These are required for any payment functionality. | Session — 2 years |
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third-party services that appear on our pages. We do not control these cookies. The third parties we work with include:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing, fraud prevention | stripe.com/privacy |
| Supabase | Authentication and session management | supabase.com/privacy |
| Vercel | Hosting, performance analytics | vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
5. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. The process varies by browser:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions
Important Note
Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from using key features of the Platform, including signing in, making bookings, and processing payments. We recommend keeping essential cookies enabled.
Local Storage
We use browser local storage to persist your shopping cart between visits. You can clear local storage through your browser's developer tools or settings. Clearing local storage will empty your shopping cart.
6. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. At this time, our Platform does not respond to DNT signals. However, we do not engage in cross-site tracking of our users.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
