Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Majistic Locs platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Platform. If you are using the Platform on behalf of a business, you represent that you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.

• "Platform" — The Majistic Locs website at majisticlocs.com and all related services, applications, and tools
• "Client" — A user who browses, books, or purchases services or products through the Platform
• "Professional" or "Loctician" — A service provider who lists services, accepts bookings, and/or sells products on the Platform
• "Booking" — A confirmed or pending appointment between a Client and a Professional
• "Content" — Any text, images, photos, reviews, ratings, or other material submitted by users
• "Services" — Loc care and related services offered by Professionals through the Platform

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Promptly update your information if it changes
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
• Not create more than one account per person
• Not share your account credentials with others

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, contain false information, or are used for fraudulent purposes.

Majistic Locs is a marketplace platform, not a service provider. We connect Clients with independent Professionals who offer loc care and related services. Important distinctions:

• The contract for services is between the Client and the Professional directly. Majistic Locs is not a party to that contract.
• Professionals are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of Majistic Locs.
• We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or availability of any services listed on the Platform.
• We do not verify the licensure, certifications, or qualifications of Professionals beyond our internal verification process. Clients should exercise their own judgment.

Booking Process

• Bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the Professional
• A deposit may be required at the time of booking, processed securely through Stripe
• Booking confirmations are sent via email and/or SMS

Cancellations & No-Shows

• Cancellation policies are set by individual Professionals and displayed at the time of booking
• Deposits may be non-refundable depending on the Professional's cancellation policy and timing
• Repeated no-shows may result in account restrictions
• Professionals who repeatedly cancel confirmed bookings may have their accounts reviewed

Rescheduling

Rescheduling is subject to the Professional's availability and policies. Contact the Professional directly through the Platform to reschedule.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Majistic Locs does not store your full payment card information.

Platform Fees

Majistic Locs charges a commission on bookings facilitated through the Platform. Fee rates vary by subscription tier and are disclosed on our Pricing page.

Professional Payouts

Professionals receive payouts for completed bookings and product sales, minus applicable platform fees. Payout timing is governed by Stripe Connect's payout schedule.

Taxes

Each party is responsible for their own tax obligations. Professionals are responsible for reporting and paying applicable income taxes. Clients are responsible for any applicable sales tax, which may be collected at checkout.

Refunds & Disputes

Refund eligibility depends on the Professional's cancellation policy and the specific circumstances. Disputes between Clients and Professionals should first be resolved directly between the parties. Majistic Locs may mediate disputes at its discretion but is not obligated to do so.

As a Professional on Majistic Locs, you agree to:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date profile information, including services, pricing, and availability
• Hold all required licenses, certifications, and insurance for the services you offer
• Honor confirmed bookings and provide services as described
• Maintain a professional and safe environment for clients
• Not solicit clients to transact outside the Platform to avoid platform fees ("non-circumvention")
• Set fair and transparent pricing for all listed services
• Respond to booking requests in a timely manner
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction

As a Client on Majistic Locs, you agree to:

• Arrive on time for scheduled appointments
• Provide accurate information about allergies, sensitivities, or hair conditions that may affect services
• Treat Professionals with respect and professionalism
• Pay for services as agreed at the time of booking
• Cancel or reschedule appointments according to the Professional's stated policy
• Leave honest, accurate reviews based on your genuine experience

By providing your phone number and enabling SMS notifications, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Majistic Locs, LLC related to your bookings and account.

• Messages include: Appointment confirmations, reminders (24 hours and same-day), cancellations, reschedule updates, and account security notifications.
• Frequency: Message frequency varies. Typically 2-4 messages per scheduled appointment.
• Opt out: Reply STOP to any message from +1 (866) 536-2998 at any time, or turn off SMS in your account settings.
• Help: Reply HELP for assistance, or email support@majisticlocs.com.
• Rates: Message and data rates may apply. Majistic Locs does not charge for SMS, but your carrier may.
• Consent is not a condition of purchase or use of our platform.

Content License

By submitting content to the Platform (including reviews, photos, profile information, and portfolio images), you grant Majistic Locs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform.

Content Standards

User content must not:

• Be false, misleading, or deceptive
• Contain hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory language
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Contain spam, advertisements, or solicitations
• Include personal contact information intended to circumvent the Platform

Reviews

• Reviews must be based on genuine service experiences
• Fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews are prohibited
• Professionals may respond to reviews publicly
• We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these standards
• Reviews may be retained in anonymized form after account deletion to maintain platform integrity

The Majistic Locs Shop allows Professionals to sell products (hair care, tools, merchandise) to Clients. Additional terms:

• Product listings must be accurate regarding description, ingredients, pricing, and availability
• Sellers are responsible for fulfilling orders, shipping products, and handling returns
• Majistic Locs charges a commission on product sales
• Majistic Locs is not responsible for product quality, safety, or compliance with regulations
• Products that are illegal, counterfeit, or violate intellectual property rights are prohibited

You may not:

• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against any user
• Engage in fraudulent activity, including fake reviews or false bookings
• Circumvent the Platform to avoid fees (e.g., exchanging contact information to book directly)
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Platform without authorization
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure
• Send unsolicited communications or spam through the Platform
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform

The Majistic Locs name, logo, brand, design, and all platform code are the property of Majistic Locs and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks without prior written consent.

If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, please send a DMCA takedown notice to legal@majisticlocs.com including: (1) identification of the copyrighted work, (2) identification of the infringing material, (3) your contact information, (4) a statement of good faith, and (5) your signature.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant the quality, accuracy, or legality of any services provided by Professionals.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Majistic Locs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees paid by you to Majistic Locs in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.

Majistic Locs is not liable for disputes between Clients and Professionals, including disputes regarding service quality, payment, or scheduling.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Majistic Locs, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Platform, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any rights of another person or entity, or (d) any content you submit to the Platform.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal action, you agree to first contact us at legal@majisticlocs.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Arbitration

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in the State of Michigan.

Class Action Waiver: You agree that disputes will be resolved on an individual basis and not as part of a class, collective, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Opt-Out: You may opt out of this arbitration provision by sending written notice to legal@majisticlocs.com within 30 days of creating your account.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice.

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

Upon termination:

• Pending bookings may be cancelled at our discretion
• Outstanding payments owed to you will be processed according to normal payout schedules
• Your profile and listings will be removed from public view
• Reviews you have written or received may be retained in anonymized form
• Sections 14-17 (Disclaimers, Liability, Indemnification, Disputes) survive termination

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. For significant changes, we may also send an email notification.

Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

• Severability — If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect
• Entire Agreement — These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Majistic Locs
• Waiver — Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision
• Assignment — You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction
• Force Majeure — We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control
